Meet Rajaleshmi, A Canada InfoNet Success Story

In 2023, I relocated to Canada from India to establish a career in the Canadian manufacturing industry, leveraging my background as an EHS professional. Adapting to this new environment presented several challenges, such as differences in regulations, standards, and practices compared to those in India. Additionally, building a professional network was difficult since my contacts were primarily based in India.

Three things I did during my pre-arrival process:

  • Researching job market requirements and pursuing necessary credentials before arrival can give a significant advantage.
  • Canada InfoNet’s Employment Counselling services can help newcomers tailor their resumes and cover letters to the Canadian job market.
  • The Mentorship program provides valuable guidance and support from experienced professionals in the industry.

Canada InfoNet proved to be an invaluable resource during my transition. The Employment Counselling services were particularly helpful. My counselor assisted me in customizing my resume and cover letter to align with the Canadian job market and provided insightful information.

The Mentorship program at Canada InfoNet also played a significant role in my success. They provided guidance and support by sharing their experiences and challenges. Their advice kept me focused and motivated throughout my job search, making this program a highly beneficial aspect of my journey.

Today, I am pleased to share that I have established a career as a senior EHS professional with a leading company in Regina, thanks to the support and resources provided by Canada InfoNet.

For other newcomer women seeking to establish their careers in Canada, my advice is to maintain a positive and persistent attitude and be open to learning and growth. Utilize available resources and support systems and believe in your capabilities.
